Three Valleys & Atlas Mountains Day Trip
A 9-hour day in the High Atlas from Marrakech: Ourika Valley, an Amazigh village and argan cooperative, Imlil or Asni and Ouirgane, with a local driver-guide and lunch stop.
An 11-hour day trip from Marrakech to Essaouira on the Atlantic: argan cooperative and tree-goat stop, free time in the UNESCO medina and fishing port, with hotel pickup.

This full-day trip (about 11 hours) drives you from Marrakech to Essaouira on the Atlantic coast, about 3 hours each way, with a stop at a women's argan cooperative. You get around 5 hours in Essaouira to explore the UNESCO-listed medina, the ramparts and the fishing port at your own pace.
Essaouira is the opposite of Marrakech in many ways: sea breeze instead of dry heat, whitewashed walls with blue shutters instead of red earth, and a medina small enough to learn in an hour. It was planned in the 18th century by a French engineer for Sultan Mohammed ben Abdallah, which is why the streets run straighter than in most Moroccan medinas. It is also 8–12°C cooler than Marrakech in summer, so it is a smart escape in July and August.
The road crosses the Chiadma plains, where argan trees grow only in this corner of the world. We stop at a women's cooperative where you see the nuts cracked by hand between stones and the oil pressed. Culinary argan (for salads and couscous) costs roughly 200–350 MAD per 250 ml; cosmetic oil is cheaper. You may see goats standing in trees along the road. Some are there naturally in autumn when fruit ripens, but many roadside "tree goats" are placed there for tips, and we prefer not to stop at those.
Your driver gives you a map and suggestions on arrival, and can walk you to the port. If you want a guided walk of the medina, we can add a local guide for about 250–300 MAD for the group.
Essaouira is known as the "Wind City". From April to September the trade winds blow most afternoons, which is great for kitesurfers but chilly on the beach. Bring a light jacket even in summer.
